Self Care Sunday
So I am all about positive vibes and being the best person you can be! Although, I have found, mainly the hard way, that in order to be your best self and to be able to help others you really need to know how to take care of yourself first. For me, this was a hard concept as I felt like I was being selfish but I have learned that by keeping yourself healthy and learning your own limits you have more positive energy to spread and are more able to help others. So I have made it a goal of mine to do something at least every Sunday that helps me to take care of myself. I've decided to help share some ideas and inspiration for your own self care journey. First step self care . . . next step empowerment!
So for this Sunday I thought I would share a recent experience. I had planned a girls trip with some friends to visit Glen Ivy which is basically an adult waterpark in southern California. It is a wellness spa type of place with outdoor pools such as saline, mineral, regular pools, etc. It also has spa treatments available. I had made it up in my mind that I would really take the day to mentally detach from any obligations or work. It was such a nice day to relax, appreciate nature, and be grateful for what I have. I highly recommend taking a day and allowing yourself to let go of the pressure you put on yourself to be productive and get things done. Give your self permission to let go and be present.

A couple of tips . . . it's sometimes cheaper during the week and they offer some discounts for people like teachers! Also, get there early to reserve a lounge!
